That's the LS2,  the yellow sticker on it makes it confusing, but it's definitely the line-selector.

Err --- I missed this thread and created a whole new one in my excitement.

I feel like I've spilled red wine all over the lovely new carpet at the housewarming.  Can anybody tidy it up?

Anyway - it looks fantastic, it must have taken ages and made you all very nervous. Fab job, we're really happy and grateful.

Now, where's the Vanish??

Stuff's now tied up :)

Welcome to the Cult of Calvi!

As the title says, we moved to a new host, the forum should work much better, everything was backed up from the previous one except avatars... so I'll need you to reupload them please :/ (edit : now fixed)

I'm working on the mobile version, should be ready soon.

Cheers!

Performances / Re: Anna's popularity
« on: February 20, 2014, 04:47:42 PM »
Bump!

Maybe thats not related but Jeff Buckley was also quite popular in France (cf Live at L'Olympia) they both loved Edith Piaf ahah..
I don't know, I just feel like the french audience is receptive to that kind of music, that is deeply emotional and focused on strong vocals

I think it's probably another TU-2, because it looks like it (especially the back) and the first one isn't plugged at all, like the 2nd T-rex room mate, it's a backup
I guess it's easier for the tech to replace it fastly when it's around?

Speaking of gear, I took a (bad) picture of Anna's pedalboard two months ago, and the hotcake overdrive was replaced by a "double" hotcake overdrive

News & Interviews / Anna Interview from Plugged Magazine
« on: January 06, 2014, 08:38:17 PM »
Hi there everyone,

If you haven't already saw it, Molly recently posted scans of Anna interview in the last issue of Plugged Magazine : http://imgur.com/a/o1PSc

The interview was conducted during the recording of "Love of my Life" in Fontainebleau's Castle.
I know not everyone read french here, but there are quite a few interesting points in this interview that might be worth mentioning here, or that be worth discussing.. So anyway, it is said that between takes of the song (It took 6 takes to nailed it) Anna randomly jammed with her band on songs from Dick Dales, The Shadows AND Jimi Hendrix, (it's even mentioned that she played a guitar solo with her teeth), it' is not clearly said, but I believe all of this was recorded. In a paranoid urge, I sent her a message via tumblr, asking if it was indeed recorded ahah

She also said she'd like to record a cover of Lady Grinning Soul as the b-side for her next single.

I would have love to make a full translation of the article, but time is quite missing here, so.. :/
However I'd be happy to help anyone struggling with the understanding of it.

So, what about Anna playing Jimi Hendrix ! :P

Forum Help / Embedding youtube videos

Here's a quick guide to do it, waiting for a better solution.

You need to take the video url, and replace watch?v= by "/v/"

So you start with :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMIYH3x8AhM

and then : http://www.youtube.com/v/HMIYH3x8AhM

Then you need to put the
Code: [Select]
[flash=640,480][/flash]
Example :

Code: [Select]
[flash=640,480]http://www.youtube.com/v/HMIYH3x8AhM[/flash]
I know it's a bit painful, but be sure I'm working on it  :P

Tabs/Chords & Notation / Love Won't Be Leaving - Guitar Tab
« on: November 19, 2013, 06:55:10 PM »
Here is a tab I made a year ago and uploaded on ultimate-guitar:

Quote
Okay, so all this was done by ear and looking live videos, I'm pretty sure it's 100%
correct though erare humanum est haha.

The song is played one half-step down (like the whole album)

I don't tab rythm, just listen to the song while reading the tab, I don't think that's too hard.

Here is the intro :

eb ---------------
Bb ---10----8----
Gb ----9----9----
Db ---10----10--
Ab ---------------
Eb ---------------   x2

then

eb --------------------------
Bb ----6---------6----------
Gb ----7----5----7---(2)---
Db ----8----7----8----3----
Ab ---------7---------3-----
Eb --------(5)--------1-----

Played those two parts twice.

Then enter second guitar with a little riff (while guitar 1 is playing the F)

eb ----------------
Bb ----------------
Gb ----------------
Db -------5...----- (let ring that Gb)
Ab ---6-7----------
Eb -----------------

Here is the verse, starting on the E tone, just turn with that riff :

"Hope this letter finds.."

eb -------------------------------
Bb ----------^-------^----------
Gb --0------5-4-----4-3---0-----
Db --2--------------------2------
Ab --2--------------------2------  and then back to E
Eb --0----3------2--------0------

Chorus :

These are standard chords:

 Am            C         C                        Bb       F
"Love won't be leaving.. It won't be gone until I find the way"

Played two times

Then :

 G         F           E                      F
"I draw my name in the sun and I hope it will find you"

And

 Am            C         C                        Bb       F     E
"Love won't be leaving.. It won't be gone until I find the way---ay"

Back to verse 2, same as verse one :

"My desire is so strong.."

eb ------------------------------
Bb ------------------------------
Gb --0------5-4-----4-3---0----
Db --2--------------------2-----
Ab --2--------------------2-----  and then back to E
Eb --0----3------2--------0-----

Then after 4 times, comes the interlude, which is basically improvised on live version,
anyway I tab what is play on album :

eb -----------------------^-------------------------------
Bb ------5-(let ring)----5-3v--(lr)----^-----------------
Gb ---3b------------------------------4-2-----2-2-2-2b--
Db --------------------------------------------------------
Ab --------------------------------------------------------
Eb --------------------------------------------------------

^ = pull-off
b = bend
v = vibrato`
(lr) = let ring)

         ^
eb -----7-5b--0--7-5--------7-5----------------7-7-7b---
Bb ---5-----------------0--------etc... then---------------
Gb ---------------------------------------------------------
Db ---------------------------------------------------------
Ab ---------------------------------------------------------
Eb ---------------------------------------------------------

Then back to :

 G       F           E                      F
"I draw my name in the sun and I hope it will find you"

Two times, then back to lat chorus :

 Am            C         C                        Bb       F
"Love won't be leaving.. It won't be gone until I find the way"

Played two times

Then :

 G         F           E                      F
"I draw my name in the sun and I hope it will find you"

 G         F           E                      F
"Oh I draw my name in the sun and I hope it will find you"

Then this is the same but one whole step up, so it goes like this :

 Bm            D         D                        C    G
"Love won't be leaving.. It won't be gone until I find the way" (Figure A)

Played two times then

 Bm            C         C                        G    F#
"Love won't be leaving.. It won't be gone until I find the way" (Figure B)

And back to : Bm - D - D - C - G

Then :

"La, la-la-la la, la la-la-la-la la"

Figure A x 2
Figure B x 1
Figura A x 1

Then back to F#, let ring, and the song ends.

That's done, hope you'll enjoy it,
