A few pictures to start this topic.   Not  my best pictures, but I could not get many clear shots.
Hope fully others who were there will follow with far better results

Cool shots Michael!

I posted these in the other thread but it makes sense to have them all in one place so they can go here as well.

They're a bit soft as I was shooting at high ISO and have used a lot of noise reduction.

The lighting in the church last night was very difficult for photography.  There was also some very strange colour casts, at times it was almost like a red mist.

I see what you mean about colour casts ... it almost looks like your camera is on acid. Very atmospheric though. I'd love to say the colours were down to the incense that was swirling around at the start: but I just don't see how that could happen

Ugh, I hate my life right now... I don't think I have ever felt so jealous over anything before.

what an amazing show! I can't even pick out some highlights, people will have to jog my memory but it was all such a blur... from what I can remember - anything with a crescendo-ing orchestra was basically heaven... Sing to Me, Desire .. my god...
Patrick Wolf was amazing - the way he harmonised with Anna on Kiss to your twin ... Charlie Fink was ok on Strange Weather, although he didn't echo her like on the track in the 2nd half and just sang with her. not sure if that was intentional - I prefer the call back style

I'll let others fawn over Eliza with a choir <3 <3 <3

here are my photos on my flickr - I'm too lazy to embed :D sorry. and I agree, the strong back lighting and thick smoke make it hard to photograph well sometimes

Oh, yeah, such beautiful photos....and this "Eliza" version, absolutely fabulous, thanks for posting :).

I am just a tiny bit surprised that Anna didn't sing "One Breath", I thought it was a safe bet with the string orchestra behind her, but well, no complaint......
Hope for the DVD, too, to come soon, that's already something to look for in 2015 :).
Mox nox.

See what you mean: I was hoping for The Bridge myself, and first song! there it was.  I sort of got the words this time.

If we're playing The Very Greedy Caterpillar Fan: I would have wished for more songs, just as radically re-imagined as Eliza.

Such a good choice of collaborators too: each managing to add to the songs instead of taking away from them.  Yes I am thinking of David Byrne, whom we were mercifully spared IMO.

ETA Jareed, fantastic photos and thanks for posting them.

Overall I think it was a very balanced choice of songs for a reasonably short performance  .    Some beautiful orchestral pieces ( The Bridge ) and some real rockers ( Ghost Rider )
I think the orchestra was used in the right proportion without over doing it.
The version of Love won't be leaving was certainly different without Mally on percussion, she did'nt even have the little ' ting ' at the end.
Finishing with  that incredibly moving version of Eliza was brilliant, nothing could have topped that.

Yes all the Guests were there for their musical abilities , rather than just for who they were   ( DB).

Thanks Jareed for your fantastic pictures, they are far  better than any of the professionally taken pictures I have seen so far.

A few decent videos starting to appear on U- Tube.

I wish that they had also put "God doesn't have time for your problems today"
